Present: T. Koenig, M. Morrison, W. Morrison, S. Heinrich, J. Heinrich and D. Miller
S. Heinrich called the meeting to order at 7 P.M. Packets containing meeting minutes and other information were distributed. S. Heinrich indicated the puropose of the meeting was to discuss and begin formatting the preliminary report to be given presented to the School Board on January 3, 2000.
Discussion ensued that included the following issues:
What to do about kindergarten
Definitions of Recommended and Acceptable Capacity
What is the goal of the preliminary report and what would be needed to complete
How many classrooms are needed district- wide
W. Morrison agreed to update the capacity comparison sheets he was doing for each school to include each room and size, current enrollment, actual usage, minimum and recommended square foot per student, maximum and recommended capacity and number of students over maximum or recommended capacity.
When looking specifically at elementary schools and parity, the committee agreed that each elementary have rooms set art, music and computers. Further that classroom space equaling 5 classrooms was needed to accommodate resource rooms, LD specialist/testing/conferencing, OT/PT/Speech, Title 1, ESL, PASS, and Gifted/Talented programming. The committee also agreed to look at elementary space usage at each school individually as well as district elementary space in total.
On a motion from T. Koenig, seconded by D. Miller, the committee voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 9:35 P.M.
