Morrison will be listed as excused rather than absent on June 27 and October 9. The vote was unanimous.

Plan Meeting with Technology Committee

S. Heinrich reported that the Technology Committee would like to meet with the PBC sometime before the School District budget goes to the Budget Committee. The committee agreed to suggest November 28th or November 27th as possible meeting dates with the Technology Committee as the only item on the agenda.

Future Meeting Dates

The committee tabled discussion of future meeting days and dates until T. Koenig was present. At the moment, the only future meeting date posted is December 12th.

Broad Based Committee Report

W. Morrison provided each committee member with a copy of the Broad Based Committee (BBC) report that was presented to the School Board on November 6th. He gave members of the committee a brief overview of the report and explained that the BBC would like permission to post this report on the PBC Website. Committee members had no objection. Further, W. Morrison noted that the BBC had approved a "subset" of members who will present the report to various community groups and/or aid the School Board in publicizing and promoting the need for a middle school.

Member Resignation

S. Heinrich reported that he has received a written resignation from J. Heinrich. On a motion from C. Morrison, seconded by W. Morrison, the committee unanimously voted to accept, with regret, J. Heinrich’s resignation.

C. Morrison noted that per PBC By-laws: until a replacement is found, a quorum will now consist of three members.

Discussion ensued regarding if and how to fill this position until the March elections. Members will talk to potential candidates. A notice will be put in the papers noting the vacancy. Anyone interested should send a letter of interest be sent to S. Heinrich c/o Superintendent’s Office.

Building Proposal

The committee discussed ways to help the School Board promote the middle school building project and strategies to "get out the vote." There was also discussion about past and present "trigger figures" of school usage before a building proposal has been passed. It was noted that, historically, school building(s) in Merrimack have been at 105% of Maximum Acceptable Capacity before any relief in the form of new construction is discussed.

On a motion from M. Morrison, seconded by W. Morrison, the committee unanimously voted to adjourn at 9 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,
