Minutes of the November 25, 2002 Meeting

W. Morrison called the meeting to order at 7:43 P.M.

Approval of Minutes

On a motion from C. Morrison, seconded by T. Koenig, the minutes of March 14, 2002 were unanimously approved with minor grammatical corrections.

On a motion from T. Koenig, seconded by C. Morrison, the minutes of March 27, 2002 were approved with minor grammatical corrections. The vote was 2-0-1.

On motion from C. Morrison, seconded by T. Koenig, the minutes of April 22, 2002 were unanimously approved as printed.

On a motion from T. Koenig, seconded by C. Morrison, the minutes of May 13, 2002 were unanimously approved with minor grammatical corrections and the sentence on page 2 starting "A straw poll..."was corrected to read: "A straw poll showed that the committee favored using the library as dividing the Reeds Ferry Library had had a positive impact on a building proposal in the past."

On motion from C. Morrison, seconded by T. Koenig, the minutes of May 20, 2002 were unanimously approved with minor grammatical corrections.

On a motion from T. Koenig, seconded by C. Morrison, the minutes of June 10, 2002 were approved with minor grammatical corrections. The vote was 2-0-1.

On motion from C. Morrison, seconded by T. Koenig, the minutes of June 18, 2002 were unanimously approved with minor grammatical corrections.

On a motion from T. Koenig, seconded by C. Morrison, the minutes of June 24, 2002 were approved with minor grammatical corrections. In addition, the paragraph starting "Space options raised" was put in a bulleted format. The vote was 2-0-1.

On motion from C. Morrison, seconded by T. Koenig, the minutes of July 29, 2002 were unanimously approved with minor grammatical corrections.

On a motion from T. Koenig, seconded by C. Morrison, the minutes of August 19, 2002 were unanimously approved with minor grammatical corrections.

On a motion from C. Morrison, seconded by T. Koenig, the minutes of September 9, 2002 were unanimously approved as printed.

On a motion from T. Koenig, seconded by C. Morrison, the minutes of September 23, 2002 were unanimously approved with minor grammatical corrections.

On a motion from C. Morrison, seconded by T. Koenig, the minutes of October 28, 2002 were unanimously approved with minor grammatical corrections, changing the date heading to October 28, 2002 and the addition of the following on page 2: "M. Shevenell told the committee he had heard from a parent who expressed a concern having school maps on the PBC website. After discussion, the consensus of the committee was that W. Morrison should do what he felt was appropriate."

Meeting Schedule

Due to Budget Committee meeting conflicts, the members decided to hold their next meeting on Thursday, December 19, 2002. The schedule of meetings until elections in April will be January 13, January 27 (alternate/if needed), February 10, March 10, and March 24 (alternate/if needed).

Other

W. Morrison asked that the following be included in the minutes:

  1. The committee has not yet received the updated population projections.
  2. The Space Utilization Inventory for the middle school does not include student usage of the modular units. While they are shown on the maps, the room are not included in the inventory.
  3. The school population figures and projections are down. The committee will need to look at how the modulars have affected the overcrowding and what issues still need to be corrected.
On a motion from C. Morrison, seconded by T. Koenig, the committee voted unanimously to adjourn at 9:50 P.M.
