Area & Perimeter Zoos
In the second quarter, fourth graders were challenged to design their own zoos. This project-based learning opportunity allowed students to experience how a wide variety of math skills applied to a real-life situation. Students were required to use checklists, create blue prints, and incorporate map skills to find the area and perimeter of each enclosure and facility within their zoo. To further enrich their learning, several students created an Animal Informational Guide based on one animal habitat that they created.
