The meeting got canceled due to the snowstorm.  In lieu of a meeting, here is the packet of information to sign up.  There are only 30 spots available.

    Reminders

Mr. Caragher and Ms. D'Amour will be going around to talk to the students to provide positive feedback for what they are doing well, and also to offer some advice on things that need improvement.  We have observed our 7th and 8th-grade students are polite, redirectable, social, helpful and supportive of the school community.  Thank you for raising such polite human beings!  Parents/Guardians, we enlist your support to reinforce some school expectations.

    • Ear Buds/Cell Phones:  These may be used before and after school hours.  We ask students to put these away during the school day.  At times, classroom teachers will allow students to listen to music or use apps on their devices.  Electronics are not allowed in the hallways and common areas such as the cafeteria during school hours.

    • Horseplay:  We have been noticing students engaging in horseplay such as purposefully bumping into their friends, pushing and shoving.  Many times horseplay leads to the unintended consequence of someone getting hurt.  We will be reminding students about our no physical contact expectation.

    • Lunches:  We have noticed an increase in the amount of trash left on the tables and floor during lunches.  We will be reminding students to throw away their trash and use appropriate voice levels.  We want students to enjoy this social time with friends!

    Art Club

Expressive Art Journaling Club (run by Ms. Blain and Mrs. Lopez) is an opportunity for students to learn how to make their own art journals and create expressive, personal art pages within them. Students will learn stress-reducing techniques, as well as positive ways to express experiences, emotions, goals and future dreams.  Information and permission forms are outside Ms. Blain’s classroom.  The club is on Mondays, Jan 6th – Feb 17th, and can only accept 16 students on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Below are some examples of expressive art journals.
