Q: "Are we taking French and Spanish?" A: Yes! You will take French for the first half of the year and then Spanish for the second half of the year.
Q: "Are the desks and chairs connected in every room?"
A: No. Most fifth grade classrooms have a separate desk and chair.
Q: "How do I get to my classroom?"
A: So many people wonder this! There will be teachers and staff members all along the hallway directing you to your classroom for the first few days of school.
Q: "At lunch do we have to sit with our class or can we sit with other classes?
A: At lunch each classroom is assigned two tables that you may choose to sit at. The lunch monitors let students earn "free seating" in which you are able to sit with any friends that are on your team and in your lunch.
Q: "How long have you been a teacher?"
I am heading into my thirteenth year teaching in Merrimack. Prior to that I was a K-2 special education teacher in Middletown, RI and substituted for a long term grade 3 position.
Q: "Do we get lockers in 5th grade?"
A: Yes you do. You are allowed to decorate the inside with magnets, but remember it is still school property, so please take care of it respectfully!
