Grade 5 Mythical People, Places, and Creatures

5th grade students are in the final stages of researching their choice of a mythical person, place, or creature. Students have chosen any presentation format that they feel comfortable with. Some students used technology (iMovie, Photostory, stop-motion animation, etc.), some preferred to employ their creativity by sculpting or painting, and we've even had a few performers come forward who are eager to produce something theatrical. After presenting their information, students will then have the opportunity to write a fictional piece about a mythical person or creature in a place that exists only in their imagination. This is an exciting opportunity for students to explore their passion while learning and applying research skills.

    Grade 6 Balsa Wood Bridges

The  6th graders are in the beginning stages of their Balsa Wood Bridge projects.  We're expanding upon their knowledge of the Engineering Design Process, which was introduced to them in 5th grade. They'll draw scale blueprints and learn how to safely use woodworking hand tools as they construct their bridges. Check out the "Grade 6" tab to the left to find out more information about this exciting project.
