Mrs. Lamare's Home Page - Formerly Miss Garber

  • Welcome to Mrs. Lamare's class website!

    • Welcome to March! The rest of the year is going to fly by so hold on tight! I am so proud of the progress you have all made so far this year and I am eager to see the progress that you make before the end of the school year. By the end of the year you will be prepared and ready to transition up to the middle school. Before then though, let's have some fun learning some more. I'm not ready for you to leave yet. Let's enjoy the rest of our time together. :)

    • So we are now experiencing our 3rd snow day in a row, meaning that we are just finishing out a 5 day mini vacation just a week and a half before February break. I hope you are all doing well. I hope to see you all again soon. :)

    • Welcome to January, almost February 2017. We are officially embarking on the third quarter of your sixth grade year. Quarter two report cards will be coming home on February 3rd. Remember that the expectations continue to grow as the year progresses and you will be help to higher expectations now that I know what you are all truly capable of. Please remember that I am always here if you are having trouble and would be glad to help, all you have to do is ask! :)

    • Happy First Snow Day of the year! I hope you are enjoying your time at home whether you are spending time coding on the computer, reading, relaxing and watching tv or movies, shoveling or playing outside in the snow. We are officially half way through second quarter, I can't even believe it! I will be sending home progress notes this week for anyone who is in danger of recieving an N thus far in the quarter, but don't worry, there's still plenty of time to bring up your grades before the quarter ends of January 20th. See you tomorrow boys and girls.

    • November 2016: Friday November 4th wrapped up the first quarter of sixth grade. Can't believe we already made it this far! I guess time really does fly when you are having fun. I can't wait to see where the rest of the year takes us. Passion projects will be starting soon. Ask your child for more information about this fun and motivating research opportunity.

    • October 2016: Thank you so much for a successful first month of school. Students are doing a great job learning the expectations of sixth grade and working to provide me with their best work.

    • September 2016: Hello everyone! Can you believe that we are embarking on a brand new school year? It's already October and I can't even believe that it was just a month ago that I welcomed a new batch of friendly faces into my classroom. We have had so much fun getting to know eachother through team building games such as Save Fred, Marshmallow and Spaghetti tower building and the cup challenge. Students are having a great time learning to work together and communicate while building an active classroom community. I am really enjoying getting to know this great group of kids this year and I look forward to the many learning adventures ahead of us.

    • Please peruse the site and find all of the important information about our year. I will try to keep you updated through the website, use of email and notices that go home. As always, if you have any questions please let me know.

    • This year we will be working on research skills, time management, study skills, organizational skills and other habits to become respectful, responsible and safe individuals.
    • There are many areas to the website that I know you will find great value in. My goal is to make the website not just a tool for me, as the teacher, to connect with parents, but also a learning tool and resource for the students. You will find links to numerous websites that can be used to practice a variety of concepts at home. You will also find a calendar with homework assignments and due dates.
    • Please feel free to contact me throughout the school year with any questions that arise. I look forward to a great school year.
