• Tier 1 Supports

Behavior matrix: Merrimack Middle School 8th grade students (2023) worked with our system of care team, and developed the four core values that they believe represent a successful Middle School Student.

Mature: Be aware of your environment. Respond with expected behaviors.

Determined: Commit to choices that lead to success.

Supportive: Paying attention to the needs of others.

Fun: The result of being mature, determined, supportive.

MVP: Teachers and staff members at Merrimack Middle School nominate students who go above and beyond. Whether it is for their peers, or their teachers, these students represent our core values, and understand that making a positive impact on the building starts with their actions, and the way they go about being a young leader in the building.

These students are nominated quarterly by their teachers, and are given a certificate, as well as their names posted in the MMS newsletter, Facebook page, and TV’s around the building.

    Mindful:

    Take care of yourself.

    Be aware of your surroundings.

Take pride in yourself and your environment.

    Keep your actions helpful.

Focus on your assigned task or destination.

    Voice:

Is what you're saying helpful, not harmful?

Is your volume appropriate to the situation and location?

How you speak and what you say matters.

    Listen and respond appropriately.

It's ok to ask for help!

    Personal Space

    Stay in your lane.

    Read the room.

    Respect others' boundaries

Give others their time to shine.

Give space to those who need it.
