School Information

  • Reeds Ferry School is named after the northernmost of the four villages of Merrimack. The village of Reeds Ferry was named for one of the ferries which operated along the Merrimack River during the 1700's and 1800's, linking Merrimack to Litchfield. The ferry was started by William Read of Litchfield, with his base of operation on the Litchfield side of the river. The landing on the Merrimack side was located at the end of Depot Street.

Reeds Ferry is one of four elementary schools in the Merrimack School District. We educate students in Kindergarten through grade four and we have a preschool program that serves three and four year old students. We currently have over 500 students attending our school.
