Asthma

  • Does your child have asthma?  Did you know that he/she may carry their own inhaler if deemed appropriate by their doctor?  Many children do carry and use their own inhalers while at school. The important thing for them to know is that if they use their inhaler and it's not working, that's when it is time to see the school nurse.  It's also important to have an asthma action plan on file at school, so a responsible adult and the school nurse know when and how to administer asthma inhalers or other asthma treatments. Even if your child has mild asthma, having an asthma action plan is vital for managing your child’s condition and treating mild symptoms early on before they worsen.
