Available to Grades 11-12
Theories and skills acquired in Power, Energy and Transportation will be applied to the unique mechanical features and systems of multi-cylinder engines. Preventive maintenance, servicing and repair techniques will be the lab activities that are centered on engine design and operation theory. Students will explore various troubleshooting methods including the use of the same computer diagnostic equipment found in the automotive industry. Components of the ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Readiness exam designed to prepare students will be incorporated into the curriculum. This course is not weighted and will not be included in a student’s ranking GPA.
