This semester course is designed to develop a student’s portfolio in visual art. Projects will focus on drawing, sculpture and painting and learning how to communicate ideas regularly at a high level of effectiveness in at least one visual arts medium. Students will initiate,define, and solve challenging visual arts problems independently, using intellectual skills such as analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. This class is recommended for juniors who are interested in taking AP Studio Art. Students will gain more experience with a variety of materials and with principles of composition and design to help prepare them for the rigor of AP Studio Art.
Prerequisite: Introduction to Visual Arts (Basic Art) and Drawing or permission of instructor
