This Intermediate Low level Mandarin Chinese course offers students the opportunity to refine their communication skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing, while improving self-expression and flexibility in the target language.  Students will demonstrate increased control of more sophisticated grammatical concepts and additional thematic vocabulary.  Students will continue to study Chinese culture and customs and are provided opportunities to use the language knowledge learned in class in real world experiences.  This course is conducted predominantly in Mandarin Chinese to help students use Mandarin more accurately and fluently and to continue to help students become more competent and confident by engaging in a variety of formal and informal communications.  

Prerequisite: A final grade of "C" or better in Mandarin Chinese 3 or an appropriate placement test.
