This Intermediate Low to Intermediate High level Spanish course offers students the opportunity to refine their communication skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing, while improving self-expression and flexibility in the target language. Students will demonstrate increased control of more sophisticated grammatical concepts and additional thematic vocabulary. Students will continue to study the culture and customs of Spanish-speaking people through comparing and contrasting products, practices, and perspectives. Students will develop a knowledge and appreciation of Hispanic history, literature, art, and music. Classes will increase the use of the target language throughout the year. Upon successful completion of the course, students will meet the Intermediate Mid-Intermediate High proficiency level.
Prerequisite: A final grade of "C" or better in Spanish 3 or an appropriate placement test.
